Bad mass air flow sensor symptoms vw of power

All modern VW, Audi, and TDI use a MAF to help measure air flow. A MAF sensor is one way of directly measuring how much air is passing the MAF sensor and into the engine.

The Benefits of Cleaning Your Mass Air Flow SensorThe more oil and dirt that accumulates on your MAF, the worse it serves its purpose. The dirtier it gets, the less accurate the reading it sends to your ECU (computer).

How to fix the MAF Mass Air Flow Sensor on a Volkswagon Jetta. This quick little video will tell you what tools you will nee and how to make it work like new!

Volkswagen Beetle 130mi, Visitor Still not completely fixed. Bought a MAF sensor from EBAY and still had the same problem.

Part -VW Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor Test (Wire Type)

MAF) sensor measures the volume of air entering the engine so the Engine Control Unit (ECU) can calculate how much gasoline the fuel injectors should deliver to each cylinder in order to create the proper fuel-air ratio. Sometimes, however, a malfunction in this little instrument can lead to big problems, usually resulting in very poor engine performance.

Symptoms: Suddenly loss of power. Car, very lasy!

Ghad the bad reputation of slowly losing his performance, causing loss of power. It's not a matter of defective or breaking down, but it is filthy dirty (not easy to clean).

I was having power loss at higher speeds and I had heard suggestion that I unplug my MAF to check for better performance. Sure enough, power returned when unplugged (though an error code ensued).

Coolant Temp Sensor – This part is prone to failure. 20and older vehicles had a bad coolant temp sensor from the factory that VW updated.
