Chevrolet Impala ProblemsStalling Due to Mass Air Flow or Crankshaft Position Sensor Failure on Chevrolet ImpalaThe mass air flow or crankshaft position sensor may fail causing the engine to intermittently stall. It may be necessary for the engine to cool down before it will restart. Cleaning the mass air flow sensor on your L, L (and some select L with a MAF sensor) is not hard at all.I believe it turned out to be the Mass Airflow Sensor or a component of the intake system. What I believe happens is that as the parts wear, they don't function up to full specs.
My Mass Air Flow sensor and the car was stalling all the time.Once we disconnected it, everything started to work fine again.

If you suspect a MAF sensor problem, scan for any fault codes. A MAF problem should (but does not always) set a fault code.
Problems with Mass Air Flow sensors are common. Bad or contaminated Mass Air Flow sensor can possibly cause a wide range of various vehicle driveability problems such as stalling, especially when the engine is col misfiring, poor acceleration, etc.ACARDONE Remanufactured Mass Air Flow Sensors (MAFS) precisely track O.E.M. output curves and maintain specification tolerances to ensure accurate scan tool readings for proper operation.
