To test the switch itself, use a multimeter or test light to verify that vehicle power is arriving at the switch. If a schematic for the vehicle is available, it shows which wire (by color) is receiving the 12-volt power from the fuse.
Just push a button and the window goes down all by itself. This luxury item used to be reserved for only high-line cars many years ago but is now the standard.
If these car window fix tricks did not help, then you may have a broken wire harness or a bad window switch. Most of the typical rocker switches have copper contact pads and paddles that sweep across the contact pads.
One of the power windows in my car has stopped rolling up. The windows are controlled by a dual switch in the center console.

The window switches are snap acting blades. A broken blade will affect the feel of the rocker button.
They provide rigidity in the body and prevent vehicle sway, much like the sway bar does underneath. But once your windows are compromise they can crack or shatter.
The windows on my car stopped working a few months ago. I could hear the motor running but the wouldn't go back up.
Operate each door lock switch in the vehicle to determine if the doors can be locked with any of the switches. If the doors lock with any one switch the most likely problem is a defective switch on the door that is inoperative.

I turn off the car the driver-side window rolls down. Sometimes it will roll back up when I push the button and sometimes it will not.
