This question is how to send an Insert keypress to Microsoft Windows running directly on Apple hardware. This is not about how to use Insert in OS X or through OS X to Windows running in a VM. Apple Inc., registered in the US and other countries. This site is not affiliated with or endorsed by Apple Inc. I finally managed to figure out what the insert key is on my macbook pro.
I missed it a lot because in Resharper the standard command to generate code is Alt+Ins. INSERT KEY----BIG problem we had this morning that sent my wife into a panic. She was writing a newspaper story on deadline, using Microsoft Word with Parallels on my iMac.

There is a switch located underneath the keyboard labeled with a PC or MAC position. Apple keyboard maps a few keys strangely: there is no Insert key, and Print Screen, Scroll Lock, and Pause/Break are not labelled. Also, Num Lock is labelled 'Clear'.

Windows for a few years but am currently working in OSX. One thing I can't figure out is how to access the help menu using a keyboard shortcut. Apple keyboard is really a laptop keyboard so I knew it would be kind to my hands. The second reason I wanted the Apple keyboard is because I really hate looking at all the crud that falls into a standard keyboard over time. Windows keyboard just that it has a different name.
As a matter of fact some older Mac keyboards actually did call it the backspace key.
