This is a video of what happened. If you look at part it's my idle after cleaning the MAF sensor on my E328i BMW.
Mass air flow sensors accuracy skews over time and can lead to fault codes or drivability problems. When replacing, inspect the plastic intake air ducts for cracks or dry rot.
Mass airflow sensor problems can cause a variety of symptoms from the annoying to the must repair. We'll discuss these in-depth on this page.
ICV (Idle Control Valve), TB (Throttle Body) and MAF (Mass Air Flow) Sensor cleaning. Many people pay no attention for these parts, however their clean-up turns your car upside down in performance, idle and fuel consumption.
BMW MAF Sensor idle problem symptom Part
The diameter of the MAF side that would go into my stock air box is TO BIG, Im thinking of sanding it with sand paper because its only a little over-sized. Before that I need to check to make sure the plug sits nice and this unit is usable rather than return it without knowing.
Check Engine Light to come on and engine starting/running problems. If the mass airflow sensor (MAF) is not functioning correctly, the vehicle may lack power when accelerating or going up hills.
Even a dirty MAF sensor can cause a lean code and/or misfire to occur. The engine may be stalling because it isn’t getting enough throttle opening.
A vehicle with a faulty manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor will usually display symptoms of a rough running engine during acceleration, deceleration or at idle. The manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor is a common component on modern fuel injection engines that vaporize gasoline by pumping fuel into the engine under high pressure.
